Plastic Welding
Plastic welding is a method for joining thermoplastic plastics together. Welding is often associated with metals, but commonly used plastics such as PE, PP and PVC also lend themselves perfectly to being connected by welding. This creates a new, firm connection of the plastic in question.
The essence of plastic welding is to make certain parts plastic by means of heat. The two parts then fuse together under pressure. When the welded part cools down, a strong new connection has been created. Plastic welding is a technique commonly used by Mosman when building chemical installations, piping systems, chemical storage, etc.

Infrared welding for the best result
Infrared welding is a modern and high-quality method of plastic welding, which ensures less tension in the welds. This method is mainly used for strong oxidising substances. For example, in contrast to traditional butt welding, the weld grooves are much smaller. Also, no additional materials are used.
Plastic welding by means of infrared creates mechanical pressure, so that two separate parts fuse together, as it were. Infrared welding is a particularly suitable welding method for PVDF and PFA. This virtually stress-free method ensures that virtually no stress corrosion can occur. As a result, the connection becomes and remains ‘very strong’.
State-of-the-art plastic welding
In ‘old-fashioned’ welding (for example, butt welding), a task is completed when two parts are fused together. However, when plastic welding by means of infrared, stickers are also applied to the welded joint. This contains unique numbers that exactly refer to the recorded welding protocols.
If, on closer inspection, something is not right, or if a defect occurs, you can easily find out how this could have happened. Thanks to the sticker applied to plastic welding, all welds are traceable. For example, it is recorded by whom the welds were made, stating both time and conditions.
