BRL SIKB 7800

Obligation BRL SIKB 7800 for 2023 BRL SIKB 7800

Every company that carries out activities that can damage the soil or the environment must be able to demonstrate that measures have been taken to guarantee the safety of the environment. Since 2009, companies are legally obliged to have their chemical storage installation(s) installed by a certified BRL SIKB 7800 (BRL-K903/08) installer. All companies that are required to comply with BRL-K903 must certify all their chemical installations in accordance with BRL SIKB 7800 before 2023.

At Mosman we can meet the demand to install your installation, both existing and still to be built, in accordance with the latest BRL SIKB 7800 requirements. If you have an existing chemical installation that does not yet meet the mandatory (2023) BRL SIKB 7800, then Mosman Installatie & Kunststoftechniek B.V. is the place to be. at the right place.

With a combination of our experts in the field of BRL SIKB 7800, a fully equipped workshop and skilled certified mechanics/installers, we can meet every demand. No problem is too big to provide the customer with a high-quality and high-quality installation in accordance with the latest BRL SIKB 7800 certification.

What is the BRL SIKB 7800?

BRL SIKB 7800 is the replacement certificate of what was previously called BRL K903. This includes the requirements that installers of tank installations must adhere to when building a new installation. The certificate has been drawn up to guarantee an adequate level of safety for both people and the environment. This concerns soil and (surface) water protection by preventing fire, explosions and leaks.

BRL SIKB 7800, as said the replacement for BRL K903, describes, among other things, the requirements for tank installations and tank installers. Naturally, this is done in accordance with the latest state of the art. After all, when working with chemicals, storage and dosing systems made of standard steel or stainless steel are not sufficient. These, like many other materials, are not resistant to chemicals.

Differences BRL K903 and BRL SIKB 7800

Different times, different requirements and therefore different guidelines. Thus BRL K903 is replaced by BRL SIKB 7800. But what are the differences? The Foundation for Infrastructure Quality Assurance Soil Management (SIKB), which is responsible for issuing the certificate, has made several changes to the draft version. The design has been adapted, among other things, to changes in regulations, such as the Activities Regulation and the Soil Quality Regulation.

It is particularly important that the requirements for chemical storage tank installations have been clarified. The possibility of an ‘introduction assessment’ has also been included, making it possible for existing installations to (still) qualify for a certificate. In addition, the requirements for reclassification of above-ground storage tank installations have been clarified. A complete overview of changes and adjustments can be found here (note: external link).

Why a BRL SIKB 7800 certificate?

The main reason for the existence of the BRL 7800 certificate is standardization. It sets general rules for building high-quality storage installations, such as tanks, drip trays, appendages and pipes. As a result, safety is guaranteed and you, as a responsible operator, are assured that people, the environment and the surrounding area are not exposed to major risks.

We have the required BRL SIKB 7800 certification

Mosman helps you with the transition from unsafe and/or outdated chemical storage and dosing systems to new, safe solutions. Because we (and therefore our installers) have the required BRL SIKB 7800 certification, you can be sure that all your installations will ultimately comply with the applicable rules, requirements and standards. The BRL SIKB 7800 standard has a legal basis for companies that fall under the Activities Decree, which the SIKB supervises.

How does the BRL SIKB 7800 certified installer work?

Despite the new naming and the adjustments, our installers still work with the same care. Customization is the key concept here. This is necessary because every company is different and works with different substances/chemicals. The first step in the process is therefore to map out the most important business processes. Based on this, an advanced 3D model and a piping diagram are created.

Filling, pumping and control systems are then built into a complete system. This is done in accordance with the applicable guidelines as stated in BRL SIKB 7800. This guarantees safety. Because where hazardous substances are used, it is important to exclude any risk. This is therefore an important reason to call on a recognized specialist from Mosman, who is in possession of the correct certification.
