New Acid Tank Chemical Storage skid for Shell Qatar
In November 2016 Mosman Projects was approached by Shell Qatar for a basic design proposal on a new 120 m3 acid storage skid for the water treatment installation on the Pearl GTL Plant.
After rewarding the contract by the end of February 2017, Shell QPH, Worley Parsons and Mosman Projects started up the detail engineering. Main goal for this project was to deliver the complete skid before August 2017.
The skid contains 3 pieces of double walled storage tanks, 45 m3 each, combined with one double walled 18 m3 neutralization tank. Each tank is equipped with a vacuüm leak detection safeguard system. Furthermore within this skid is included: an acid offloading station, wet-scrubber and distribution pump. Including process-field equipment and control system.
Due to the challenging time schedule, all parties involved worked closely together to be able to deliver the set objectives, in terms of quality and safety, on time.
On site installation started by mid-August 2017 and after a successful test and commissioning period, production started by mid-September 2017.
A special thanks to the team members of all parties involved, who turned this challenging project into a successful installation, based on high performing plastics in a challenging environment.
